My Story

Hello!

I'm Jiva DeVoe, welcome to my little corner of the universe.

My work sits at the intersection of technology, visual storytelling, and exploration. 

For most of my career, I’ve been building systems—tools and technology—to empower creativity. 

I’ve spent decades as a software engineer, building products, tools, and workflows for creative professionals. That background became the foundation for how I approach my visual work and enables me to bring a unique perspective and capability to my projects.

Today, I’m a maker, photographer, cinematographer, and immersive storyteller. I work in both traditional 2D and emerging 3D immersive technologies.  I love bringing experiences to people and I’m drawn to wild landscapes, overlooked places, and stories that don’t fit neatly into categories. 

I’m interested in presence—what it feels like to stand in a place you’ve never been before and witness something unique and unusual.  

I create:

* Creative imagery that captures the essence of my subjects and boosts engagement

* Documentary portraits and short films

* Immersive and spatial video experiences

* Cinematic travel and nature films

* Software that breaks down barriers and pushes creative limits.

Why This Matters to Me

We’re at a rare moment in technology where a new visual language is being invented. Immersive media, and spatial storytelling are an opportunity to tell stories differently, with greater presence.
